Food shopping can sometimes feel like a chore, but it’s also one of the best opportunities to make small, eco-friendly changes that can have a big impact on our environment. Once you start shopping with your own reusable bags and containers you will realise how easy it is. You will feel so satisfied with the extra effort you made to be more organised that it starts to become a healthy normal habit every time you shop.
When you’re planning your next visit in store, bring any containers you have – Tupperware, ice cream, yoghurt and takeaway tubs work really well – then simply fill them up with your daily essentials. Unpackaged has developed a self-service weighing scale which makes it really easy to tare (remove) the weight of any container you bring. We do have organic cotton bags that you can buy and reuse to get you started with your conscious shopping.
Choose from organic porridge oats, quinoa, lentils, chia seeds along with a variety of nuts. There are also snacks such as banana chips and milk and dark chocolate buttons to name just a few.
The best news is that shopping this way is also cheaper as you are not paying for all the packaging, you’re just paying for what you and the environment need.
See you in store soon for a new shopping experience.
